Our Jazz classes begin from Grade 3, when students join a combined Jazz & Modern class, exploring a dynamic and expressive style of dance. Students follow the ISTD Jazz syllabus, progressing through the levels and taking medal examinations, which support structured learning, skill development, and personal achievement.
Classes focus on technique, alignment, strength, flexibility, musicality, and performance quality, while encouraging individuality, expression, and confidence. Students learn to interpret music, explore style and character, and develop stage presence, all within a supportive and engaging environment.
We present a full school performance every other year, giving students the exciting opportunity to perform on stage. Jazz dance helps students develop rhythm, coordination, confidence, and artistry, while fostering discipline, self-expression, and a love of performance.
